We launched Cataclysm Arcade cold and
sold out in 32 days.
Cataclysm Arcade had no customer list, no purchase history and no search presence. Ultra built and launched the store around a single $5 early bird reservation, kept it running through the sell-out, and ran Klaviyo alongside Cataclysm's team through a Kickstarter that raised $2,047,778.
A cold start with everything to prove.
Cataclysm Arcade needed a paying, committed audience for a trading card game before its Kickstarter went live. The store launched with no existing customer list, no purchase history and no organic search presence.
Every buyer had to be found, convinced and converted from zero, inside a short pre-launch window with a hard end date.
Everything to prove, in 32 days.
Four jobs, one commerce layer.
Cataclysm's team ran paid Meta, influencers and Discord. Ultra owned the commerce and retention layer underneath it: the store, the launch, and the email program that carried reservation holders into the Kickstarter.

One offer,
built to convert cold traffic.
We built and launched the store around a single offer: a $5 Early Bird Reservation with a Booster Pack. Nothing to browse and nothing to decide, one path from ad to confirmation. When the sell-out push arrived and daily orders more than doubled to 1,160, the store held.
35% of all orders landed in the final four days before the early bird sold out.
9,718 buyers,
carried into the raise.
The early bird produced 9,718 customers who had already paid to be first in line, most of them from Discord and influencer traffic that converted at nearly three times the paid rate. We ran separate, ongoing Klaviyo campaigns to that audience through the Kickstarter, working side by side with Cataclysm's team.
Email was not the only driver of the raise, and it kept a paid, opted-in base engaged through every stage of it.
Sold out, then funded.
Cataclysm's paid Meta built the volume: about 103,700 tagged paid sessions, 85% of all traffic, with the main Facebook campaign converting at 5.58%. Direct traffic, where Discord and influencers show up, converted at 15.9%.
What this launch proved.
From a cold store to a $2M raise.
Cataclysm Arcade launched its Shopify store cold and sold out its Early Bird Reservation in 32 days at a 7.69% conversion rate. Ultra built and supported the store, then ran Klaviyo alongside Cataclysm's team through a Kickstarter that raised $2,047,778.
Data: Shopify Analytics, human sessions only, May 1 to June 1, 2026. Later retailer and VIP bundle sales and in-store event orders are excluded. The Kickstarter total was provided by the client.
